Not The End Of The Story
“And Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen shroud 60 and laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock. And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tomb and went away.” Matthew 27:59-60
Jesus was crucified for crimes He did not commit. He was crucified for the sins of the whole world. He suffered, bled, and died that we might have a right to the tree of life. He hung on that rugged cross for three hours before He hung his head and died, and it was in that very moment that our sins died and the price of our sins were atoned for.
Just For Me
“And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him and led him away to crucify him.” Matthew 27:31 (ESV)
All across Christendom we pause and recognize this time called Good Friday. On the surface it does not seem like it was a good Friday, because our Lord and Savior was being whipped and would be crucified. It didn’t seem like a good Friday because an innocent man was to be killed for being good and righteous.
“I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.” Matthew 26:29 (ESV)
As we are nearing Resurrection Sunday, we find that Jesus is going about putting things in order so that when He leaves, we would have some patterns and blueprints to follow in order to be His disciples. Jesus wanted to ensure that we would never forget the sacrifices that He has made for us on Calvary.
Give Your Very Best
“There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat at meat.” Matthew 26:7
If we took the time to think about all of the great and wonderful things that The Lord has done for us, we will quickly see that we are extremely blessed. Many of the things that The Lord has blessed us with are invaluable to us, and we would not trade them for the world.
