It Is Always Right To Do Right
"To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.” Proverbs 21:3 (ESV)
If we are honest with ourselves it is not always easy to do the right thing. There are times when we struggle between doing what we know is right, and doing what we want to do. We know that we should help someone because it is the right thing to do, but when we think about something they may have done to us or said about us, we struggle with doing what is right.
Draw Near To God
“Then Saul said, “Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them.” And they said, “Do whatever seems good to you.” But the priest said, “Let us draw near to God here.” 1 Samuel 14:36 (ESV)
Many of us grew up in a time when it was imperative to follow the directions of our parents. We did not get an opportunity to do something simply because everyone else was doing it. We had to follow the directions and orders of our house, and many of our parents would tell us that they did not care what anyone else was doing, we had to do what we were told to do in their house.
“Immediately the father of the child cried out and said, “I believe; help my unbelief!” Mark 9:24 (ESV)
For many of us our faith is the bedrock of who we are as Christians. We live and walk by faith on a daily basis. Our faith is what keeps and guides us through many situations that we face in our lives.
I Want To See Him
“And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him.” Luke 23:8
Jesus was being condemned to death for things that He had not done. For the most part Jesus remained quiet and did not answer the accusations that were levied against Him.
