The Lord Is

"But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." Psalm 3:3

When we know that rain is in the forecast we try to make sure we have an umbrella with us to keep us dry from the elements.  When we know the temperature is going to drop we make sure we have the proper attire to keep us warm from the cold.  When we know that certain things are going to happen we can prepare ourselves for whatever it is.  Just as the umbrella keeps us dry and protects us from the rain, we have The Lord who is with us and protects and shields us from the things that may try to come our way.

Don’t Worry

“Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?” Matthew 6:30

For all of our lives The Lord has taken care of us, and has been there for us when we realized it and even in those times when we have not realized it.  There has not been one need that we have had that The Lord has not provided for.  He has been our friend and confidant when we needed Him t, and doors have been opened for us that we know that The Lord was the one who opened that door.

Have An Encounter With God

"And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed." Genesis 32:28

We all have done things in our lives that we are not proud of. Some of the things we have done we carry with us everyday of our lives. There are some things that are difficult to let go of, and no matter how many times we try to let it go we will never forget what we did or what happened to us. We can decide to let our past have power over us, to the point we feel like we will never be able to move on past our past.

God Will Exalt You

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” 1 Peter 5:6

Each of us has experienced a time when we saw others doing well while we were struggling.  We were trying to do everything the right way, and even in then we were still not reaching the places that we thought that we should have been.  It is difficult to see others doing well, who may not be doing the right things, while we continue to have to fight and scratch for everything we do.

Newness Of Life

“We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.” Romans 6:4 (ESV)

Being a Christian does not abrogate us from the struggles of life.  Our salvation does not guarantee us a life without stress but it does give us an assurance that we do not go through it alone.  There are going to be struggles on our Christian journey, and some of them will be more difficult than others, but we should always recognize that Christ is our example that when we struggle, we will also succeed.

God Is There

"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them." Deuteronomy 33:27

There should be someone in our lives we can go to and share the things we are going through.  So many times we try to bottle everything in and keep it to our selves, and then the stresses of life catches up to us and before we know, we are totally stressed out.  Stress can cause health problems, and physical aliments as a result of keeping everything to ourselves.

"Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." I John 4:4

There is something special about a newborn and the innocence of a child that is a great blessing that God allows us to see.  There is nothing like a smile of a little baby or the joy a child can bring to the most difficult situation just by their presence. We are God's children and He delights in us.  We are so special and precious to God that He looks after us with His love.

“So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.” Isaiah 41:7

A champion in any sport or in any arena will testify that they did not become a champion on their own.  It did not make a difference what the sport was, if it was an individual sport or a team sport there is always a support system in place to help build and make a champion.  We may want to do some things on our own, and even think that we can do some things on our own without any help, but we quickly realize that any successful endeavor that we undertake it is going to require some help on some level.

Freedom In Christ

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

Life can have a way of causing us to jump through hoops, and if we are not careful we can become so used to the hoops that instead of jumping through them we become attached to them.  We can become tied to things and people who will have us connected to them forever if we are not careful.
