Only By God's Grace

“For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.” Romans 12:3 (ESV)

It is because of the loving kindness and grace of God that we have been blessed like we have.  It is only because of God’s grace and mercy that we have been able to make it through some of the things that we have been through.  It has been by the hand of God that we have been able to be educated and employed in the places where He has placed us.

Lift Your Hands In His Sanctuary

"1 Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. 2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary, and bless the LORD. 3 The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion." Psalm 134

The beginning of the week is not Monday, but Sunday.  This is important because so many times we believe the week starts on Monday and Sunday is just and extension of Saturday, and we treat Sunday like another day off from work. Then the focus of our week becomes Monday and not Sunday this could be why when we don't start the week with God on Sunday our week can feel out of sorts.

Good Counsel

"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful." Psalm 1:1

We all want the blessings of The Lord in our lives. To be blessed by God is an incredible thing that is not matched by anything we could ever imagine. When God chooses to bless us there is nothing anyone can do about it.

Free Indeed

"If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." John 8:36

Remember growing up and when we got into trouble we had to stay in our rooms or we couldn't go outside for a day or a week. It felt like our rooms were the biggest prisons in the world.  We thought that our parents were the worst things in the world.

There is Hope For Your Future

“There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall come back to their own country.” Jeremiah 31:17 (ESV)

Each of us has had an experience where the current situation that we were facing made our future look grim.  There was no way we could plan for tomorrow because today was so rough.

Work in Progress

"Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" Philippians 1:6

Many of us have started things and have not finished them.  We have projects at work and at home that are just lying around waiting to be completed.  Some of the things we said we were going to do we have started out well, but something got in the way and did not allow us to complete them.  Each New Year brings new resolutions of things we say we are going to do, and now with four months left to this year we must ask ourselves, how many of those resolutions have not even been started?

Consecrate Yourself

“Then Joshua said to the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5 (ESV)

It is so important that on a daily basis we ensure that we are following the direction that The Lord has given to us.  Many times we take detours of the path that The Lord has given us and then we wonder why things are not working out the way The Lord said that they would.

Ask in Faith

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” James 1:6 (ESV)

Some of us may have experienced someone needing to ask us a question, and they begin by saying that they already know that we are going to say no, but they are going to ask the question anyway.  If they really thought that the answer was going to be no then they already knew that it was probably not going to work in their favor, because they approached the situation with a negative viewpoint from the start.

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41

Prayer is something that we can never do enough.  Prayer should be an important part of each of our lives.  Prayer is the thing that should get us from day to day.  The song says, "whisper a prayer in the morning, whisper a prayer at noon whisper a prayer in the evening just to keep your heart in tune."
