Growing up we were taught the importance of listening to and obeying our parents. We were also taught that we should listen to and respect our elders. We were told this because our parents and elders had wisdom and knowledge that we did not yet possess. Once we got a little older we thought that the counsel of our parents and elders were old fashion and outdated, only to discover that when we found ourselves in a situation that we should not have been in, that we should have listened to our parents. As we are taking this spiritual journey it is important that we tune our ears and hearts towards God, and be obedient to those things that He says to us.
The Scripture reminds us, whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease without dread of disaster. I encourage you today to listen to God. There will be all types of people trying to get you to do all types of things, but listen to God. It does not matter what anyone else is doing or the direction that they are going in, listen to God. When you listen to God and his direction He has for your life, you will be secure and at ease knowing that God is with you. It is when you do not listen to God that you find yourself in situations and circumstances that you should never had been in. God knows what He is doing and He knows where He is leading and guiding you to be, and all you have to do is listen and have faith that He will take care of you. I have found myself in some difficult situations because I refused to listen to God, but I know when I am obedient to Him He will keep me safe and bring me to a place that He has just for me.
Since I am being obedient to God I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Lord help me to be obedient to you all of the time, and heed your word and direction for me life. In Jesus Name Amen.
