Draw Near To God
Many of us grew up in a time when it was imperative to follow the directions of our parents. We did not get an opportunity to do something simply because everyone else was doing it. We had to follow the directions and orders of our house, and many of our parents would tell us that they did not care what anyone else was doing, we had to do what we were told to do in their house. Now that we have matured we should still be living up to that creed that it does not matter what anyone else is doing, we must do what The Lord has called us to do. We cannot become so concerned about everyone else and miss what God is trying to do in our lives.
The Scripture reminds us that, Saul said, “Let us go down after the Philistines by night and plunder them until the morning light; let us not leave a man of them.” And they said, “Do whatever seems good to you.” But the priest said, “Let us draw near to God here.” I encourage you today that no matter what anyone else is doing, you draw near to God. Draw near to God when everyone else is in panic and does not know what to do. Draw near to God when things are not going the way you thought they would go. Draw near to God when you have tears streaming down your face, and draw neat to God when trials and tribulations come your way. There is not a circumstance or a situation that you face that you cannot draw near to God. No matter what it is that I am facing in my life, and no matter what anyone else does, I am determined that I am going to draw near to God every time.
Since I have made up my mind to draw near to God I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
As I go throughout this day help me to draw near to you. No matter what anyone else does or says I will draw near to you. In Jesus Name Amen.
