There are a variety of reasons that we get up every day and make our way to work. For some it is because they love what they do, and they could not imagine doing anything else. For some it is the reward that they get in just helping someone along the way. However, for some getting up and going to work is a chore all by it self, because they do not particularly like their job, but they go because of the paycheck. It does not matter if you like or dislike your job, for the most part each of us make it to work because of the wages that we receive. Each of us who receive wages work and earn those wages. A gift is something that we do not earn or work for, but it is given out of the kindness and generosity of someone's heart. In our spiritual walk we also have things that we work for, and things that we receive as a gifts from God. The Scripture reminds us that, the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. I encourage you today to stop working to earn the wages of sin, which is death, but instead receive the gift of God that is eternal life through Christ. If you really think about it you work to sin, it takes effort to sin, but when you allow God to pour His gift of eternal life onto you, that gift is already paid for by the blood of Christ, and all you have to do is accept it. Accept the gift that will bless you when you need a blessing, and keep you when you need to be kept. Accept the gift that will see you through every trial and tribulation that you face in your life. Accept the gift that will never leave or forsake you, and will give you the opportunity to live forever with Christ. I am thankful for the gift that I have of eternal life through Christ. Since I have accepted the gift of eternal life in Christ I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!
Lord thank you for the awesome gift of eternal life. Help me to eradicate sin from my life, so I can fully enjoy the gift of eternal life. In Jesus Name Amen.
