March 2, 2018 : Call On The Lord

“Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples!” 1 Chronicles 16:8 (ESV)

There are days when it seems that the sun refuses to shine in our lives, and it feels like everything that could go wrong, goes wrong in a major way. It seems that those who we really thought were there for us, have only been perpetrating a fraud and were only using us to get what they wanted. It is in days and times like those that it is difficult to find reasons to be thankful, but it is exactly in those conditions that we should lift our voice of thanksgiving unto The Lord, because He is always there for us regardless of what we may be facing in our lives.

The Scripture reminds us to, give thanks to The Lord; call upon His name; make known His deeds among the peoples.

March 1, 2018 : The Greatest Gift

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

For each of us there comes a time when we try to show those who we love just how much we love them by doing something special for them. There are many ways in which we accomplish this; it could be doing something unexpected for them, or giving them a special gift on a special occasion, or just being there for them when they need someone. Love is shown and expressed in many different ways, and once expressed the person receiving the love knows how much they are loved. There should not be any doubt in our minds or hearts just how much God loves us, because every day of our lives He shows His love for us. He also showed us how much He loved us by giving us the greatest gift anyone could ever give, and that is the gift of life through Jesus Christ.

The Scripture reminds us that God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life.

February 28, 2018 : Call On The Name Of The Lord

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Proverbs 18:10

There are some names we can mention and when we do immediately people will know who they are just by their name. Not only will they know who they are, they will know why they know their names. If someone was to mention LeBron many will think of basketball, or Tiger their mind would go to golf, or Serena and they would think of tennis, because their names are associated with those particular sports. A name alone can be powerful to those who call it, and even with a powerful name there are still some who will not respect or recognize how powerful the name is. There is not another name as powerful as The Lord and yet and still some do not recognize it, or respect the power in His name.

February 27, 2018 : Praise The Lord

"Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power." Psalm 150:1

There should not be any doubt in our minds that The Lord has been good to us. If we take the time to look back over our lives and see all of the great things that The Lord has done for us, we would really be amazed at His goodness and kindness towards us. When we look at all of the blessings The Lord has placed in our lives, we will see and know that we are not deserving of any of the blessings, but The Lord blesses us despite ourselves. Since The Lord is so good to us we should take every opportunity that we have to thank and praise Him for His love and kindness towards us.

The Scripture reminds us that we should praise The Lord. Praise Him in His sanctuary, and praise Him in the firmament of His power.

February 26, 2018 : Drop Your Stones

"So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John 8:7

As we go through life each of us are going to make our share of mistakes. None of us no matter how hard we try is going to be perfect all of the time, and no matter how hard we try we will never do everything right all of the time. Even in our Christian walk we sin every day, and even though we try not to sin, we do. In all of our mistakes and through all of our sin we should remember that others make mistakes and sin as well, and we have no right to point their sin out, especially when we are walking in the grace of God because of our sin. It is easy for some to point out others flaws and mistakes, but hard for them to see their own.

The Scripture reminds us that, they brought to Jesus a woman who was caught in adultery, and reminded Jesus that the law says she should be stoned. Jesus responded to them by saying, he without sin among them to cast the first stone at her.

February 24, 2018 : It Will Work Out

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28

There are times when no matter how well we plan something it may not turn out the way we expected. We can spend hours, days, and even months planning something only for it to turn out totally different than what we planned. Many of us if we would look at our lives and where we are now is not where we thought we would be at this point in our lives. In life we are going to have some disappointments, but we cannot allow disappointments and failures to stop us from getting up and trying again. As we continue in our spiritual walk with The Lord, things may not work out the way we want them to, but they will work out the way He wants them to for our lives.

The Scripture reminds us that, we know that all things work together for the good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose.

“Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Proverbs 27:1 (ESV)

So many times we become exited about things that are going to happen. We are excited about vacations that will happen, and trips we may be preparing to take. We being to look forward to things that have not happened yet, and we can even become so excited about the possibilities of something that is going to happen, and we fail to celebrate what is happening around us right now. February 22, 2018 : The Lord Will Not Leave You Desolate

“The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.” Psalm 34:22

It is no secret that God is good to all of us. All we have to do is to look back over our lives and see all of the great and wonderful things that He has done in our lives, and we will be very quick to see how great God is to us. There has not been a time in our lives that God has not been there for us, and no matter how many trials we may have faced, He has never left us alone. There have been times when we may have felt alone, because the people we thought would be there for us were not there, but we really have never been alone, because God has always been by our side. The

Scripture reminds us that, The Lord redeems the soul of His servants: and none of us that trust in Him shall be desolate.

February 21, 2018 : Cast Your Cares on The Lord

"Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:7

Each of us has a feeling and pretty much knows when someone cares about us, and we also know when they do not. When someone cares they will show their concern for what it is we are going through, and they will be concerned in general with how we are. When someone does not care they will show their lack of concern in their actions, and although they may say they care their actions will portray a different story. When we have those in our lives that really care about us, we know we can go to them with any and everything because we are sure that no matter how minuscule it may seem to anyone else, if it is a big deal to us, it will be a big deal to them and they will be attentive to our situation. Even when someone who cares can at times seem like they do not care, we still do not have to carry our burdens alone.

The Scripture reminds us to, cast all of our cares on Him, because He cares for us.
